Mrs. Moran attended Shipley School where she was a former Pennsylvania State Champion squash player and continued her education at Mary Washington College in Virginia where she majored in Biology.
In 1951 she married Maxwell Moran and raised six children. Through the years she fox hunted and became an accomplished rider.
She has always had a special dedication to her community. She was a founding member of the Chester County Community Foundation and received the Jordan award for Philanthropy in 2000. She serves on the board of the Brandywine Museum and Conservancy, the Devon Horse Show and Country Fair, the Bryn Clovis Charity Foundation, the Paoli Hospital, Community Volunteers in Medicine, Operation Warm and Home of the Sparrow.
She is very active in her church, St. David’s, and always has time to help on one committee or another. Her latest projects were co-chairing the campaign for La Comunidad Hispana located in Kennett Square, PA and raising funds for the Chester County Food Bank. The Salvation Army honored Mrs. Moran with its 2009 Others Award in recognition of her dedication and service.
She actively enjoys golf and travels extensively. She has a great appreciation of art. She enjoys spending time with her 15 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She constantly keeps in touch with them regarding their colleges, schools, interests and hobbies.
So many people whose lives she has touched admire her. Her generosity is legendary and is only surpassed by her modesty. With so many demands made on her time, she is always there for someone in need. She is a woman of action; she is enthusiastic about life and it rubs off on everyone around her. She is truly an inspiration to her family and to all the people that come in contact with her.
