Thoroughbred Education and Research Foundation

TERF Mission Statement

To support and promote equine education and research by sponsoring scholarships in veterinary medicine and supporting organizations that are educating the public in the proper care of horses

Born to be around horses, Antoinette, best known as Toni, spent every opportunity to ride, work and care for horses. A Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Connecticut with a major in Animal Science furthered her passion and intellectual love of horses and the goal of providing a better life for our equine friends. Toni worked for veterinarians, small and large animal, as an assistant in busy practices in New York State and Connecticut before marrying her husband Jim.

Moving from Cornell with her husband, a veterinarian and currently a faculty member in the School of Veterinary Medicine, University of Pennsylvania, and Toni’s volunteer efforts focused on the Thoroughbred Charities of America (TCA) and PennVet’s an ‘Evening in Saratoga.’ Toni helped raise $100 of thousands of dollars for the New Bolton Center campus of the University of Pennsylvania with both volunteer efforts.

During her free time Toni loves the feel and enjoyment of a good book, gardening, saving the environment and showing her champion Labrador Retriever, Cabo. Toni brings to the TERF her fund raising experience and the understanding of the requirements needed for successful philanthropy.
